A DISPLAY of old Australian tin plate toys will be a feature of a model motor vehicle exhibition at Morpeth.
The Hunter Model Vehicle Collectors Club will hold its first individual exhibition and sale in St James Parish Hall on Sunday, February 4.
The show will be across the road from a Motorists Appreciation Day, a display of full-size veteran and vintage vehicles at St John's Theological College.
Several hundred models, ranging from 1/64th scale to 1/18th scale vehicles, will be on display at the Models at Morpeth show.
Most of them will be die-cast collectables but the display will include pedal cars, model trains and new and obsolete models from Matchbox, Corgi, Solido, Days Gone, Trax and Maisto.
Cars for sale will range from $5 each to several hundred dollars for radio-controlled machines.
A gold coin admission charge will be donated to youth cancer support group CanTeen.
Organiser Trevor Palmer said his club hoped to raise its public profile.
